ON THIS NIGHT : GREEN JELLO aka GREEN JELLY

Green Jello, as they were known when I photographed them in April of 1993 at the Ogden Theater in Denver, Colorado were a comedy rock/punk band formed by vocalist and sole founding member, Bill Manspeaker in 1981, they eventually were forced to change their name after Kraft Foods threatened a lawsuit if they did not stop using the name Green Jello. There certainly was no shortage of characters to photograph.

A chaotic concert

The music was interesting and all over the map, punk, rock, metal and very chaotic at times. They did have a very big hit at the time called “Three Little Pigs”, yes, a version of that song we all know. The current album was called Cereal Killer as well, clever. I recall seeing a video for “Three Little Pigs” on MTV, which evidently was a huge success in 1993. Interestingly, the drummer of TOOL who toured, as well as the singer of TOOL participated in the recording of “Three Little Pigs”.
