ON THIS NIGHT : BLACKFOOT
Blackfoot, another of my favorite southern rock bands shot here in February of 1980 on their Strikes album tour and just before the release of their Tomcattin’ album soon after. These images from the Capitol Theater in Passaic, New Jersey where they were very popular and had played the clubs and small theaters for many years. The bands front man, Ricky Medlocke was an amazing entertainer as well as a great guitar player, one of my all-time favorite’s and later would re-join Lynyrd Skynyrd closing out his long career.

Hard rocking music
The band rocked thru their set of hard rocking southern rock including songs “Warped”, “On the Run” and “Every Man Should Know” from the forthcoming new album, as well as “Train, Train” and of course the big FM radio hit “Highway Song” as the encore. Talk about kick ass hard rocking music, these guys at this point in the band’s history brought it. Sadly, founding member and drummer Jackson Spires passed away in 2005, but the bands music and legacy continue with new members under the supervision and guidance of Ricky Medlocke.
