ON THIS NIGHT : KID CREOLE and the COCONUTS
I photographed Kid Creole and the Coconuts on Friday, November 9,1980 when they were opening band for the B-52’s. Formed by singer/guitarist August Darnell, they were known as a party band in the NYC area, combining Caribbean, disco and Latin American sounds. The Coconuts were a trio of beautiful female backing vocalists and dancers formed by Adriana Kaegi. A very photogenic and entertaining band for sure.
