ON THIS NIGHT :GWAR
Gwar are a theatrical shock rock, heavy metal band from Richmond, Virginia captured here in 1994 at the Ogden Theater in Denver, Colorado. In perhaps one of my most difficult photo assignments of my career, I managed to come away with a few decent images.
Plastic garbage bags
Gwar are known for dispensing from the stage, and into the audience, gallons upon gallons of various colored liquids replicating blood and many “other” bodily fluids. Most fans come prepared with plastic garbage bags covering them up completely, I unfortunately was unaware of this. Gwar continue without any original members and have released over 13 albums to date. Founding member and lead vocalist Dave Brockie seen here, died in 2014.
