ON THIS NIGHT : OBITUARY
Obituary are known as the godfathers of the Death Metal genre. Founding members John Tardy on vocals and Trevor Peres on guitar, both seen here when I photographed them on their World Demise tour in early 1994 at the Ogden Theater in Denver, Colorado.
PIT Magazine
At the time I was staff photographer for PIT Magazine, who asked me to shoot some promotional images of the band prior to the show for use on the cover of the next issue. That mission completed, great guys by the way, I went on to shoot that nights show which was to say the least, HEAVY…
Evolving metal
The evolutionary process in metal music is very interesting, Obituary’s music 30 years ago, was considered some of the heaviest out there. Today’s younger metal bands are more extreme than ever, part ideology and part modern production technology maybe? Then again ask anyone the definition of HEAVY and you will get different answers for sure.
