ON THIS NIGHT : SANCTUARY
I photographed the Seattle, Washington metal band Sanctuary on July 28, 1988 as they were the opening band for TESTAMENT at the Rainbow Music Hall in Denver, Colorado. They were touring in support of their debut album Refuge Denied, produced by MEGADETH front man Dave Mustaine. At the time I was unfamiliar with their music, but they put on a good opening set of heavy, thrash and power metal. As it turns out, these very early images show future NEVERMORE singer Warrel Dane who passed in 2017. The band released a total of 4 studio albums as SANCTUARY, well spread out from 1988 thru 2017.
