The last time you seen this guy was on American Idol. Ruben Studdard is back doing a tribute to one of the greatest voices and R&B, Luther Vandross. The show opener was comedian Terry Hodges. His credits are hosting tour for artist as Patti LaBelle, Anita Baker, Boys to Men, Luther Vandross, O’Jays & Frankie Beverly and Maze. Terry freely roasted people in the audience and even got me, “Who are you shooting for?” “You wearing them glasses you definitely going to get the picture huh?”
Luther’s songs
You have to be very confident and have the voice to try to cover any of Luther’s songs because his fan base will let you know if you’re out of pocket. But Ruben came through with flying colours the boy hit all the notes and didn’t miss a beat his backup singers was extraordinary his band were tack sharp.
The venue was Chandler Center of the Arts ,the lighting was magnificent the staff friendly I really enjoyed covering the show I can’t wait to come back. Please pick up a copy of Rubens new album A tribute to Luther, you wont be disappointed.
