ON THIS NIGHT : TED NUGENT
The music of TED NUGENT was the soundtrack for most teenage boy’s during the seventies. With hits like “Free for All”, “Cat Scratch Fever” and “Stranglehold” he was bigger than life. I photographed his “Scream Dream” tour stop at the Spectrum Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in July of 1980.
Loin cloth and a guitar
When the house lights went down, the mayhem onstage (and off) erupted. The crowd was high energy and crazy and TED NUGENT bathed in it all, literally, with nothing on but a loin cloth and his guitar. As a performer, TED NUGENT has boundless energy.
The NUGENT experience
He rocked all his hits, at one point running over right in front of me for a screaming photo opportunity seen here. This photo has been published in a few rock magazines back in the 1980’s and is one of my favorites as well. By the end of the show, I felt like I had been thru an experience, the NUGENT experience.
