ON THIS NIGHT : THE IRON MAIDENS
I’m not the biggest fan of tribute bands, however they have become very popular these days. Having been fortunate to have seen and photographed most of the genuine original bands, I was not keen on this entire new trend. A life-long friend of mine, Mark convinced me to go with him to see The Iron Maidens, an all-female tribute to Iron Maiden. The bands stage names are quite funny, Bruce Chickenson and Steph Harris. This show took place at an old rock club in Denver called Herman’s Hideaway on a chilly late October night.
The impressive Iron Maidens
The lighting in this club was minimal so the images came out nice and clear considering. The band rocked thru all the Iron Maiden standards, “Number of The Beast”, “The Trooper” and of course “Two Minutes to Midnight”. I was very impressed with the musicianship and amazed at the response by the fans there that night, completely engrossed in the scene. In the end, the music & the songs are at the heart of this new & popular trend & that’s great.
