A word from the photographer
In only its second year the GoatHell Metal fest in Pula has quickly established itself as the main metal festival in Croatia. Bands came from Europe and Russia to play and I met visitors from several countries including Sweden and Columbia who came to party.
The opening nights free concert is held just 20 meters from the sea and it was the new Croatia Metal band Lionmane from Rijeka who opened the festival.
On the Friday and Saturday, bands start playing from around 16.00 and play on the main stage until around 02.00 to 03.00.

As well as top bands the festival also has an art / sculpture and photo exhibition. There are several shows by Roman gladiators and fire eaters. Food and drink are well priced and many of the bands have their own merchandise stands where they are always happy to share a beer.
The Thrash metal band from Austria
A great set by the Groove Metal band Feelament who had traveled by van for two days from Russia to perform. Thanks, it was worth every km.
The photographer`s favourite set
A great performance by the Slovakian Metal band April Weeps. They offered a powerful and at times dramatic set.
From Hungary came the explosive Thrash Metal band Archaic.
The main headline band for Saturday night was the legendary Thrash metal band Destruction from Germany
The final band that I photographed was well worth the wait.Playing long into the night were the Dutch old school Death Metal band Bloodphemy.
Thanks to all the crew at the GoatHell Metal Fest for arranging the photo pass and running an excellent pit .The Chasing The light Art photographer got some great shots….Thank you …. it is much appreciated….
