`Point Blank` were an American Blues / Southern Rock band. They are captured & photographed here in analog from the stage & pit area during a concert in America in 1981.

ON THIS NIGHT : POINT BLANK
Another band hailing from Texas was a hard-touring rock/southern rock outfit, Point Blank. I first saw them opening for Judas Priest in 1979, I photographed them later in 1981 opening for 38 Special on their American Excess tour at the Capitol Theater in Passaic, New Jersey. They had a current hit single called “Nicole” on radio and were becoming popular after five albums into their career.

Blues Rock
Original founding members, guitarist Rusty Burns and guitarist Kim Davis were both very talented blues rock players who obviously had played with each other for many years. New vocalist Bubba Keith was a very engaging front man formerly of the James Gang, at least on one album, Newborn. The band broke up three years after these images were taken, sadly none of the original members are still living.
